Monster Jam Party Ideas

If your young son goes crazy for the “Monster Jam” show, then you can probably choose the theme of the show as a theme for a birthday party.

Invitations

A great idea is to print out blank “tickets” or simply a folded piece of paper with a picture of your child’s favorite Monster truck on it, and attach one or more of the following sayings along with the party information:

Get it in gear and come over here for the party of the year! Race on over and don’t miss a minute of the action! It’s a monster of a party!

Come to a Monster Jam Pit Party!(This wording works well if you’ll be playing the show during the party, or showing highlights of the previous season.)

Decorations

You should make some invitations in the shape of a monster truck. On the invite you can refer to your party location as the arena, and your party date and time as show times. For an RSVP you can write “For ticket information, call 555-5555.” Cut out pictures of monster trucks from magazines or use some monster truck clip art. Tape them around the party area. Besides, you can purchase some balloons and crepe paper and use them to decorate.

Hang some balloons from the mailbox so that guests can quickly identify where the party is. Line your driveway with checkered flags. You should purchase some matching monster truck paper plates, cups, napkins, and tablecloth for the food area.

Have the Monster Jam logo hanging above your front door and black-and-white streamers braided along your walkway, fence or front railing.
No doubt that streamers in racing colors are perfect for any area the kids will be partying in. Match a tablecloth to your decorating scheme or buy one that has Monster Jam images on it. You can place removable wall decorations where the children will be playing. At the end of the party, have a “drawing” where each child picks a number. This will correspond to a number you’ve written on the back of one of the clings. The child then takes home that wall decoration as a party favor.

Create a monster truck arena. Buy 2 remote control trucks and making an oval out of giant legos. You can have 2 children race each other at a time. The winners can then face off against each other in rounds until there is only one winner left standing. Make a big monster truck on a piece of poster board. Then make license plates with each of the children’s names on them out of construction paper.

Place a piece of double sided tape on the back of the license plates and have the children play pin the license plate on the truck. Blindfold each child and spin him or her around three times. Let the child go toward the poster board. Whichever child gets the license plate closest to its correct location wins. I

f your child is the sharing type, give him a Monster Truck video game for his birthday and have all the guests take turns playing. You can play the show, or season highlights, during the party.

This idea is ideal for a sleepover party as well. Show the Jam before it’s time to sack out, then let the guests stay up an extra half-hour having munchies and good times.

Food

You can make some ham sandwiches and then use a truck cookie cutter to cut out the shape of a truck. Monster trucks do their business on dirt. To bring some “dirt” into your party you can make some brownies and place them in the back of a toy dump truck. Throw some gummy worms among the brownies to make the brownies look like dirt.

A great idea is to make a cake with a giant monster truck on the top, or have a caterer make a cake in the shape of a monster truck. For an exciting arena drink, pour two 2 liter bottles of ginger ale in a punch bowl. Then add one liter of fruit punch. When the children are ready to eat, scoop some orange sherbet on top. It will begin to fizz up. The kids will love to watch it fizz. They will love the flavor the sherbert adds to the punch. Pop Rocks, Sour Skittles, Cry Babies Extra Sour Gumballs, Warheads and other “explosive” edibles are great as treat bag take-homes or to serve during the party.
